Let me introduce you to the launch issue of Heart Beauty Magazine - an new Australian glossy dedicated to beauty and working in the industry.
The first issue includes amazing work from Rae Morris and 9 interviews with some iconic makeup artists!
I love my international beauty reads, from Allure to Marie Claire U.S and Elle Canada, so I was pleased to get my hands on the first issue of this newly launched magazine. The publication is of course available to purchase in Australia (though apparently it has been selling out left, right and centre!) and online for Australian customers for $8.95 here. However if you are in the UK and want to grab a copy of this then WH Smith will order it in for you if it isn't already stocked on the shelves - you simply just need to ask (I say this as not many people know that WH Smith provide this service).
The price does convert to £5.40 but of course will be higher than this due to delivery costs etc. But if you are in the beauty industry or an aspiring MUA then this will be worth it for the amazing imagery and interviews in this issue!
I won't lie, I do feel the first issue is a tad thin and padded out a little too much but there is a nice feature on the contents of a beauty bloggers handbag and a behind the scenes look at what goes on during a fashion shoot on location.
But what makes this magazine worth buying is the amazing beauty looks - Rae Morris showcasing four amazing looks, nine Biba inspired looks from Rachel Montogomery and six absolutely stunning and inspiring looks from Nigel Stanisluas (one seen above). I am no makeup artist but I thoroughly enjoyed the images and can imagine these being of great inspiration for any up-coming or aspiring makeup artist.
The other section that makes this magazine stand out is the nine interviews with some very well known makeup artists - Tom Pecheux, Lisa Houghton, Charlotte Tilbury, Charlotte Willer, Rachel Montgomery, Sina Velke, Liz Kelsh, Nigel Stanislaus and Rae Morris. I will now be trying a little pink blush on my cheekbones close to the eye to lift the look of tiredness, thanks to Liz Kelsh and Maybelline's Full 'N' Soft Mascara and Max Factors Liquid Effect Eyeliners are firmly on my to-buy list. When a makeup artist recommends a product I listen! Not only are the interviews interesting but questions such as 'What advice would you give aspiring makeup artists about securing an assisting agreement?' and questions on their affiliation with beauty brands are asked, which makes this a great read for anyone looking to get into the industry or is currently in eduction.
If you are an aspiring make-up artist or just obsessed by beauty then I would highly recommend this magazine. However if not then I'd say Allure magazine would be a better way to spend your money.

There are fashion magazines, there are wedding magazines, there are even magazine solely on kitchen design, pets and how to make dolls house furniture! But what about a beauty magazine for the millions of beauty obsessed women in the UK!
It came to me last week whilst reading the new issue of Elle (which I don't love that much if I'm honest) it's mainly a fashion magazine as I'm sure you all know with different categories towards the back - Food, Travel, Beauty, Films, Health & Fitness. All of which have magazines dedicated to them already, except for beauty!
But I really cannot figure out why this is! I mean there are at least five hair magazines on the market but the closest we have to an actual beauty magazine is the free Health & Beauty magazine from Boots - which if we are honest is just a glorified catalogue of products that you can purchase in-store with the odd interview and handy tip thrown in for good measure.
I did a bit of research and found that Vogue actually have a Beauty magazine... in Japan. I'm not too sure about the USA, maybe my US readers can enlighten me?
Other countries aside I just want a beauty magazine! Yes even a £3.90 magazine it that's what it takes; dedicated to makeup and skincare containing interviews with makeup artists, models and celebrities and in depth reviews of the latest products - not just 10 word snippets from the a beauty editor on what's hot this month. It's just not enough.
The more I think about it the more I am convinced it would make for such a good magazine - basically the best beauty blog with all the things that make it amazing plus more, but in print!
What would it be called? Makeup Savvy. No, only joking of course! I would personally love to see Red bringing out the beauty magazine and simply called it Red Beauty as I just love the laid back approach the magazine has and the beautiful photo shoots it does - just so creative. I think the last four December Christmas editions of Red magazine stored in my wardrobe says just how much I love the magazine.
I really wouldn't care who published it as long as it filled the beauty void that I think the magazine shelves are missing and us as beauty loving consumers!

I have to admit I read alot of magazines...however most are yearly subscriptions which makes me feel slightly better on the money side of things. But at more than £3.50 for a normal fashion/beauty magazine is working out to be £42.00 per year for just one magazine a month!

1. Glossy Magazine
This had to be my favourite online magazine - It really is a glossy magazine with fashion, beauty, photoshoots and celebrity news. There are 4 back issues to read and Issue 5 has a huge 270 pages to read.
It really is hard to believe that the magazine is free - if you only pick one online magazine to read make sure it is this one.

2. M Magazine
If you want a soley beauty focused magazine this is for you, this is a sleek magazine with interesting interviews, tutorials and inspiring photoshoots.
M Magazine has 13 back issues and the current issue has 160 pages. Another amazing quality online magazine.
3. Pure Beauty
Pure Beauty is a UK based online magazine full of beauty news and reviews. There are no back issues to read however this is a monthy magazine with up to date news and interesting articles to read.
At 68 pages this feels similar to a free beauty magazine that you would pick up in Superdrug or Boots without being biased ofcourse.

4. Chic Today
Chic Today is certainly chic and polished. It is also packed full of amazing photography and inspiration.
With a mixture of fashion and beauty photoshoots this is one to browse though and soak up the inspiration and creativity that goes into this online magazine.
5. Swank Glossy Magazine
Last but not least is Swank Glossy which is a smaller online magazine at only 12 pages, however all 12 pages are full of amazing high quality images that are certain to inspire.
6. Because Magazine
(Because I couldn't just have 5)
Although this isn't a magazine as such I visit this site on a regular basis to look at new fashion/beauty products that are viewable as images or small videos.
