Face Mask Friday!

The Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel (£7.15) from Soap & Glory was the first mask that I ever tried to help reduce the size of my pores and I loved it - but what do I think of it now I've tried a million other pore busting products!

The mask is definitely not your usual high street product - it contains 50ml of pink creamy product with little green beads that pop when touched. It also smells great too, sweet and mushroom like, sounds odd but trust me it isn't!

What the mask is supposed to do -
Ideal for greasy, spot prone and oily skin, or for a strategic attack on a misbehaving T-zone.
Our exclusive PORESHRINK-R COMPLEX in Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel contains...
  • FOMES OFFICINALIS EXTRACT: A mushroom extract to tighten pores.
  • SALICYLIC ACID: which loosens up the dead cells that contribute to pore clogging
  • KAOLIN: That’s ‘cosmetic’ for clay. It sops up extra oil on your skin and smoothes your skin’s surface!
  • VITAMINS E & C: Antioxidants. Just because you’re oily, doesn’t mean you’re not aging.
Exclusive Poreshrink-R Complex, what a load of rubbish! But I have to say I do like the mushroom extracts in the mask and of course Salicylic Acid.

Applying the mask...
I have applied this mask so many times that I've found it works best if you leave it on for the full 15 minutes (5 minutes as S&G suggest as a quick alternative gives a superficial change that doesn't last long) and really rub in all the little green bead things, which I still don't know what they do but they seem to do something good!
The mask doesn't set at all so it's quite a nice relaxing mask - I also only tend to apply this were I have blackheads and enlarged pores only as it just seems wasted on my more 'normal' skin.

If I want to see a good change in my pores I will use this 3 times in one week and by the end of the week my pores seem alot less visible and tighter... but once you stop using it your pores do go back to normal within two days really. So I mainly use this as a superficial treatment for when my skin is being really oily and my pores are looking more stretched than usual as I don't think continuous use of the product has any healthy benefits to the skin as it's not a very natural product.

The Results...
Like I mentioned above I use this as and when I need it - when my pores are looking at there worst and I need an instant fix before maybe going somewhere the next day. It just seems to make all the blackheads less noticeable and all the empty pores just that bit tighter so your skin appears brighter and fresher. It also softens the skin quite nicely and soaks up any excess oil you may have.

I do have to say for the price this is a really good but fun product - it smells nice, it's fun to apply, feels quite nice but it actually gives instant results. Actually it's alot better than a few other higher priced masks/pore treatments I have tried, which is why I always go back to it.

So it you do want a cheap instant fix to reduce the appearance of all them nasty blackheads and pores then this really is worth trying!

  7. I was considering doing a review on this but you beat me to it, Fee!

I'm afraid I only leave it on for around 5 min max, purely because by the time I get round to my facial routine, I'm in a rush for bed or class. It still gives a great mattifying effect though!

I think the beads contain salicylic acid and other goodies in there which may spoil in the long run in the clay mixture were they not protected by the bead coating.

Bought it originally purely because it had 'peel' in its name, but so glad I did now! Still want to try peel-off masks though. Which would you recommend that doesn't come in tiny 99p satchels?

  10. @ShimmerDreamz Ahh interesting to know about the beads - well it definitely works doesn't it!

You know I don't know of any peel off masks in a tub - I know afew that have 'peel' in the name... like this one and they do nothing of the sort. Abit silly really.

@BeautifyBelfest - Oh you need to try Soap & Glory! Really fun but actually good products.
