February Favourites

Going to try something a bit different with my favourite posts from now on, as I've found the more organized it is the easier it is to read. So taking inspiration from Best of Beaute  who does great favourite posts that you all should read - if the product is in red then I have reviewed it and you can just click on it to read the full review.

So let's start with nail polish...

Models Own 'Concrete Mixer' £5.00 - You will either get this nail polish or you won't. It's a creme polish so no shimmer and it's a putty/greige colour. Opaque with 2 coats and lasts quite well.

Revlon 'Peach Smoothie' £6.29 - This is from the upcoming Scents of Summer collection so it's scented with Peach when dry and it's actually half the reason why I like it strangely- I mean sniffing your fingers never looks good and I wouldn't recommend it, but there is something rather satisfying about having a quick sniff after application (ok, that just sounds all wrong). As for the nail polish... it's a really lovely light peach shade with a nice bit of golden shimmer running though it. Needs 2-3 coats and lasts 2 or 3 days with  a topcoat, oh and the topcoat doesn't stop the scent.

Gosh 'Silver Star£5.00 - Had this for awhile now but only started using it this week and I just love it, makes any nail polish look really beautiful and sparkly as you can see in the nail post above. A really pretty glitter that you need if you love sparkly nails.

Tuberoli Perfume Space NK £8.75 - I am in love with this perfume and I'm on my 3rd and last ever bottle due to it being discontinued *sobs*. However I can see why it's being binned by Space NK as it was just stupidly priced (retailed for £40) and I'm sure most people would prefer spend there money on a designer fragrance. It's all sold out on the website but it's worth having a look in-store if you're out shopping as a 15ml bottle will only cost you £4.50 and at that price it's worth it just for throwing in your handbag or as a travel spray!

Neom Multi Balm £12.00 (part of a set) - Ever since I got this I have used it daily and loved it. I don't know if it's because it's organics and only full of good ingredients but my cuticles seem to love it... currently I don't have any bit of scraggly cuticles and they are looking even and healthy. Just a non sticky, easy to use balm for nails and lips.

Deep Cleansing Mask Sponges x 2 £1.55 Liz Earle - I originally got these with the Liz Earle face mask and just loved how soft they were and also how removing a face mask with one of these is so much easily then just washing your face whilst getting water all over the floor. Just really handy and cheap!

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner £5.99 Boots  (on offer) This is abit of a cheat as I've only had it a week but I've already worn it afew times and absolutely love it. Glides on like butter and is totally opaque, once dry this doesn't budge and really does last all day. So no fading as the outer corners or flaking... just a perfect hight street gel eyeliner that I would compare to more expensive high end ones. Also the brush is quite good, really precise and good quality. Though if you have really oily lids then maybe give this a miss (it's worth reading how Cecilia from Best of Beaute got on with it).

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent £3.99 Boots  There's not a lot to say about this really, except it works. A dusting of this on the T-zone  in the morning leaves the skin nice and matte for most of the day without looking cakey at all. The downside is the packaging is very flimsy for throwing into your bag. Other than that it's perfect.

Also been loving in February - Homemade Rice Pudding. Naked Softening Face Wash. Man and Boy by Tony Parsons. Brighter Nights. Urban Decay Naked Palette. Max Factor Xperience Foundation.Watching Films in HD and thoughts of Spring!

Happy March everyone!

  1. I took a look at that eye liner in Asda where I live (I don't live in asda obviously, but the closest one to my house), I took out the brush and it fell apart.. so I decided not to get it! lol x

  2. Great selection! I think I need to buy those sponges for removing face masks; I've been using a clay one from Origins recently and it is a nightmare to remove.

  8. Ahh Rimmel pressed powder reminds me of school days... It was a must have and they were always smashed up because of their flimsy packaging mixed with school books!
