If you're a beauty blogger or makeup lover than chances are you've heard of The Ride or Die Tag created by beauty guru and Youtuber Jaclyn Hill. The aim of the tag is to select only your true favourite products.

As Jaclyn mentions in the video this is more of a challenge than a tag as it's seriously difficult to pick just one product from each category... I mean no beauty lover can pick just one lipstick or eyeshadow palette?! But here it is, my own ride or die makeup products!

PRIMER: DHC Velvet Skin Coat
FOUNDATION: Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation
CONCEALER: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
FACE POWDER: Clarins Loose Mineral Powder
UNDER EYE SETTING POWDER: Gosh Prep n' Prime Setting Powder
BLUSH: theBalm Frat Boy Powder Blusher
BRONZER: Benefit Hoola Bronzer
HIGHLIGHT: theBalm Mary Lou Manizer
MASCARA: Kiko Extra Sculpt Mascara
LIPSTICK: Soap & Glory Fabulipstick in Super Nude
LIQUID LIP: Kat Von D Ever Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita
LIP GLOSS: Barry M Lipgloss in Toffee
EYESHADOW PALETTE: MAC Burgundy Times Nine (for now!)
SETTING SPRAY: Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray
PERFUME: Thierry Mugler Alien

This really was so tough to do... how can I only share just one fragrance and one lipstick?! Anyway this is a fab tag to do, so if you're a fellow beauty blogger then I tag you to do it!

Just copy & paste the above and get debating with yourself on what your true ride of die makeup products are!

Let me know if you do the tag as I'd love to read it.

Wanderlust-tag

Today I thought I'd take a little break from all the festive posts and do a tag!

This isn't a typical type of tag I'd go for but as I was supposed to have gone on holiday last month but didn't due to moving house I currently have a slight case of wanderlust! I'm not that much of a traveller but I hope you enjoy the post all the same!

Where was your first plane to?
I actually can't remember exactly but I'm sure it was somewhere Spanish-y when I was a child. Probably to Menorca or somewhere similar.

Where have you travelled to that you would love to visit again?
I actually haven't travelled to many places really! *wonders why she's doing the tag* But I love the Canary Islands which offers sun, sea and sand and isn't a long flight (it took me a while to get over anxiety when flying). Somewhere I actually do go back to and will continue to do so for a long time to come I imagine.

You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no object, where are you going?
I think I'd have to cast my anxieties about long-haul flights aside or drug myself up and go to San Francisco or Dubai. San Francisco because it has both the city and nature and I'd need that balance and Dubai for the food buffets (oh dear... am I really admitting that), shopping and beaches. Again I need that balance of calm.

Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or car?
So I'm taking this as my preferred method to travel long distance. I'd have to say by plane as the idea of travelling in a car for hours seems like hell. But the idea of travelling by train in Europe doesn't seem too bad... less hassle than flying and possible good views!

Favourite travel website?
My favourites travel blog has to be World of Wanderlust. It's such a great mix of travel articles, tips and lifestyle posts. It's made to want to visit more places in Europe and often gives me wanderlust. Also it has such beautifull photography!

Where would you travel to just eat the food?
Well I mentioned about wanting to go to Dubai for the buffets... but that wouldn't be my only reason for going. So it would have to be New York! I'm sure I'd come back feeling very unhealthy but I'd love to experience stacks of pancakes for breakfast, on the street pizza and amazing bagels. Mmmm yes.

Is there a place you would never go again?
Probably Morocco... I found it quite grim if I'm honest. Granted I went to Tangier and not the capital but I wasn't prepared for the poverty or maimed child beggars at all. It was probably a very true look of the city but not somewhere I'd ever choose to visit again.

Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked?
Is this a thing? As you can guess my answer is no to this. Other than booking a holiday I haven't ever needed to recite my passport number... so I haven't remembered it. More and more I'm wondering why I'm doing this tag seeing as I don't travel too often!

Do you prefer the Window, Aisle, or Middle seat?
Without a doubt a window seat. Yes, you are squished in next to two other people, who have to get up if you want to go to the toilet.... but at least you get to see out! This for me makes the plane feel a lot less compact and claustrophobic, plus you do get some amazing views of the clouds and different parts of land.

How do you pass the time on the air plane?
Films, films and more films. Then when I've ran out of them or battery I resort to reading and eating. The last time I flew back in May was the first time I flew without any anxiety which meant I actually ate! I gave hot food a miss as it didn't seem all that appetising but I was all over the snack selection box!

So it's safe to say I'm not much of a traveller and I don't often get wanderlust but hopefully you found my answers somewhat interesting!
I think I may have to chose a more suitable tag next time...

PS. Feel free to do this tag on your own blog if you have one!

Me-Time-Tag

I'm here again with yet another tag, one I found on the wonderful Jennie's blog, Sailboat! I just had to do this tag as it's me all over and for me there's something quite cathartic about typing away answering random questions.

Personally me-time is very important. I do suffer from anxiety from time to time and find being alone and doing something relaxing the best thing to clear my mind and get me back to being my happy self!

1. What do you like to watch or read during me-time?
I don't have a specific book I go back to time and time again so I generally read whatever I'm currently reading - normally it's something fairly popular/in the book charts and fiction. I also love to take a stack of magazines to bed with me and have a good read of them. Sad fact: I have Christmas issues of Red magazine dating back to 2008 that I still re-read! As for what I like to watch, I'm constantly seeking out quirky romantic films. Recently watched 'Her' 'Ruby Sparks' and 'About Time' and loved them all so very much.

2. What do you wear during me-time?
Without a doubt pyjamas. I whip off the bra (TMI? Sorry) and get into one of my many pairs of pyjamas with the addition of a comfy hoodie. I also seem to like to wear my faux fur throw as a cape when it's extra cold... anyone else do that awkward shuffle to the kitchen with a blanket/throw still around you?

 3. What are your favourite me-time beauty products?
I would say a face mask but the whole having to wash it off never feels very relaxing. So I will go with painting my nails... whilst watching TV. If I'm having me-time I like to bring all the products I intend to use down stairs and set them out, then I will file and buff my nails, apply cuticle oil, moisturise my hands and then finally paint my nails and remember to apply Seche Vite top coat as you can't beat an ultra shiny manicure. This may seem like more work than applying and washing off a face mask but it's all not moving for the night for me.

4. Current favourite nail polish?
Oh this is a toughie hummm. I'd have to go with Essie Hor's D'oeuvres (times like this make me glad I don't do You Tube videos... I can't even imagine pronouncing that shade name). I featured the nail polish here in a Fragrance Direct haul and it's literally love!

 5. What do you eat or drink during me-time?
I'm more about the eating if I'm having me-time and will most likely go for Nutella on a toasted bagel... just the best combination. But if I'm in the mood for a hot drink it's most definitely Whittard's Creme Brulee White Hot Chocolate here - I've never tasted anything more delicious.

6. Current favourite candle?
Village Candle's Brownie Delight here. This is the most true to scent candle I've ever purchased/tried. I seem to have a problem with a lot of candles giving me a headache and not being able to smell them properly but with this it's gives off a powerful scent but one that hasn't got any synthetic scent to it. It literally smells like I've been baking brownies when I burn this candle - amazing!

 7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?
I suppose walking my dog would be classed as me-time as I love to enjoy nature and find it so calming... especially great if I'm having an anxious week or feeling stressed by something. But come summer I love to wake up and sit outside on a bench in my garden with my little dog (she also likes to sit upright on the bench pretending she's human) with either a homemade smoothie or a banana. Just enjoying the tweeting of birds and the warmth of the sun.

8. Would you ever go and watch a film alone?
This isn't something I'd consider as me-time really as I feel going to the cinema is an activity/event... plus you sadly can't go in your pyjamas! Oh god cinemas so need to do that... Pyjama movie evenings where they also come in during the film with carts of KFC or McDonalds, that would literally be amazing?! Okay, I'm maybe getting a little carried away here.

9. Favourite online shop?
A bit of a boring one here but it has to be ASOS. With hundreds of brands and their own ASOS label I'm always wanting something from the website. Plus I'm signed up to their Premier service so I get free-next day delivery all year round. I pretty much order from them a few times a month!

10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?
Can me-time include sleeping? Well napping? There's nothing like getting into bed for a little hours sleep. It feels indulgent and so so good when you're all warm and relaxed in bed! Yes, I'm truly a sloth at heart.

Hope you've enjoyed my slightly over sharing answers! If you want to also do the tag just copy & paste the questions below to your own blog.

The_Blog_Reader_Tag

Today I have a tag for you with a difference; one solely to be answered by blog readers in the comments! This idea came to me when thinking of ways to get feedback on my own blog but also because I'm nosy about other people's blog reading habits!

Plus if you're also a blogger I thought you could use these questions on your own blog (using my image above if you wish) for your own blog readers to answer.

I'd more than love if you could copy and paste the below questions into the comment box and answer them!

1.What are your favourite type of blog posts to read on my blog?
2. What epitomises a good beauty blog to you?
3. How often do you read blogs in general and at what time of day?
4. How do you keep up with new posts from the blogs you love (Bloglovin', email updates, GFC, tweets from the blogger)?
5. What is your blogger pet peeve?
6. What would you love to see more of on my blog?
7. Name a few of your favourite blogs

If you answer the questions then thank you so much in advance - it will be of huge help!

Autumn_Tag_2014

Autumn is upon us and I for one am already in full-on cosy mode with the nights closing in earlier each day. There's just something I love about Autumn that I can't explain, maybe it's the magical feeling of Halloween and knowing Christmas is on it's way or just the fact that the lazy person in me loves to hibernation and snuggle under a blanket.

So in love of Autumn I thought I'd complete an Autumnal tag today.

1. Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
Oh how I fail at this question! I'm not a huge hot drinks drinker so I actually get an iced frappuccino from Starbucks... even in winter! I think I will however make an effort to try a hot chocolate from Costa or Starbucks this year though.

2. Accessories - what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
I'm all about scarves (well snoods) and boots. I've actually just purchased by first snood and pair of ankle boots of the season and can't wait to wear them with nice dresses and black tights. In fact my autumn accessory would be black tights... if you could call them an accessory - such a staple.

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
I can't say my music tastes change other than at Christmas time really.

4. Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?
I always go back to an old favourite with Calvin Klein Secret Obsession as it's so warming and autumnal to me. But I'd love a new scent this year that's gourmet and yummy.

5. Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
Currently I have a Yankee Candle Honey & Spice Wax Tart burning which is the best of both summer and autumn. But after trying a Lily Flame candle earlier this year and loving it I will looking to get a few from there, I'm thinking Crushed Almonds and Chocolate Truffle mmmm.

6. What do you love most about Autumn?
Oh I love too many things! I especially love cosying up at night and either blogging, watching TV or reading. I also majorly love warm lunches (in summer I generally stick to smoothies and cold food) which is either a warm sandwich or homemade soup made in my slow cooker - so tasty. I also love the lead up to Halloween as it just feels different and magically and then of course there's the thought of Christmas :)

7. Favourite makeup look?
Come autumn I always love either smokey eyes in either neutrals or purples with a nude lip or a simple cat flick with berry lips. One thing I love about autumnal makeup is searching for new berry lip colours and blushers... though I think my all time favourite blush for autumn with be Rose Gold from Sleek.

8. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
Strangely it's going on holiday in the sun... which isn't autumn-y at all, but I love relaxing so much, so I'm very much looking forward to that. I'm also looking forward to better programmes on TV - Jamie's Comfort Food and Strictly Come Dancing are at the top of my list.

A big thanks to Georgina (the tag and her Q&A's can be found here) for creating this tag.

The tag is open for anyone to do, so why not do it on your own blog if you have one!

Summer_beauty_tag

Georgina from Makeup Pixi3 has gone and created yet another great tag! And because I love random rambly posts I thought I'd do it. It's also a nice opportunity to talk all thing summer - my favourite season after Christmas (which I've decided is a season in it's own right)!

Hope you enjoy the tag and please feel free to answer the questions over on your blog if you have one... or just ramble to me about summer in the comments if not!

1.  What's your favourite thing about Summer?
It has to be the weather! Waking up and knowing it's going to be a warm day without a cloud in the sky! The sun shining is an instant happiness boost for me.

2.  Do you have a favourite Summer drink?
If it's a warm summers day and I'm in and out of the garden - reading and sunbathing generally, I like to make up a batch of Lipton Lemon Ice Tea in a big jug with ice and keep it in the fridge. If you are lucky and have a world food aisle in your local Tesco you should definitely try it! I also love making a fruit smoothie in the morning for breakfast and sitting in the garden to drink it.

3.  Is there a location you like to go to each Summer?
I love going to the beach in summer for a picnic/BBQ though it's always way more crowded than I imagine. But Barbecues in my garden is the thing I love the most!

4.  Favourite makeup look for Summer?
I don't really change my makeup too much with each season. But for warm days I like to do a simple winged eye and a bold lip or stain depending on how warm it is. I discovered for hot days a good lip stain is my best friend for looking still made up even after my eyes have gone a little smudged.

5.  Dresses or skirts?
Pretty summer dresses all the way! I love skirts with black tights in winter but as soon as summer comes along I love wearing comfortable above the knee dresses (mainly from Primark as they always have so many lovely ones).

6.  Sandals or ballet pumps?
Since discovering Melissa ballet pumps (which literally are indestructible and waterproof!) I wear them all year round - I have 6+ pairs now. So I continue to wear them come summer but I do love sandals especially with dresses and on holiday they are a must.

7.  Do you prefer to wear your hair up or down for Summer?
Most days I'm lazy and stick my hair up in a high messy bun but if I take the time to straighten my hair or curl it with my Babyliss Conical Wand I do prefer how it looks.

8.  Deep smokey eyes or bold lips?
I always find a bold lip much easier even if it takes some maintenance during the day. I also feel like I don't wear bold lipsticks enough any other part of the year so I love delving into my lipstick drawer and deciding what I'm going to use. I love both Kiko and Clarins for super pigmented but hydrating lipsticks!

9.  Favourite perfume for Summer?
I love, love, love wearing pretty floral and fruity perfumes in summer, even if the bees are attracted to me! My absolute favourite for the past two years has been Vera Wang Princess - such a creamy floral vanilla scent that is perfectly summery.

10.  Last but not least, favourite music for Summer?
Ohh, this is a tough one as I don't really think my music tastes change throughout the year. If I'm in a super happy mood, which is generally when it's a sunny day and I'm getting ready, I listen to a 90's playlist on Spotify - Savage Garden, Green Day, Alanis Morissette etc! But it's generally what's in the charts... do the charts even exist these days? Currently loving Happy by Pharrell, All of Me by John Legend and anything by Bastille.

Hope you enjoyed my answers! If you want to do the tag you can use the above image I've created if you wish.

Perfect_Palette_Tag

At the weekend I collected all my palettes together and decided to sit down and finally do the Perfect Palette Tag! This is a tag I have wanted to do in the longest time as I have enjoyed reading so many of these and discovering other people's favourite palettes.

Hope you enjoy discovering my favourites and all the pretty photos - eyeshadow heaven right here!

1

1. Best Packaging
Without a doubt Kiko! I'm not sure I could pick a specific palette as all the limited edition eyeshadow palettes are amazing. Just so unique and creative. Above are just two of the palettes I own and they really do stand out in my collection. Kiko's packaging it also always good quality and palettes are affordable.

2

2. Best Colour Payoff
Again a brand first springs to mind with Sleek as their eyeshadows just have the most amazing pigmentation. But if I had to pick one palette it would be the iDivine Storm palette... I mean just look at the intensity of that blue shade, just amazing right? As you can see it's a well love palette and one of my favourites/most used before discovering the Urban Decay Naked palettes.

4

3. Best for Travelling
Oh this is an easy one! The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette has to be the best for travel. It's compact, light, contains a mirror and all the shades I'd personally want. From the lightest shade that works as a great base and brow highlight to the darkest which is ideal for using as eyeliner on an angled brush. I even use the two brown shades together for my eyebrows. I'd recommend this to anyone that loves a neutral/smokey eye.

3

4. Most Versatile
Quite a newly acquired palette here from the lovely Tanzina (she blogs at Makeup A to Z!) who I did a little makeup swap with last month. The NYX Wicked Dreams boasts an impressive 24 eyeshadows in quite a compact palette that is ultra slim. This offers so many great shades and possibilities

6

5. Best Colour Names
As a huge lover of Christmas it has to be the eyeshadows names of the Too Faced Joy To The Girls palette. All the names have a holiday theme to them, my favourites being - Cookie Dough, Snow Angel, Prancer and Twinkle. Just super cute and fun! I do also feel Sleek deserve a mention here as for quite a long time they didn't name the eyeshadows in their palettes however after listening to bloggers they now creatively name them all!

5

6. Biggest Regret
This was a tough one as I don't really regret any palette but I decided to go with the Urban Decay Rollergirl palette. This is far from an awful palette but I feel the packaging is a little tacky and not to my taste plus what were Urban Decay thinking with a shimmer pink eyeshadow along side three neutrals... it makes no sense.

7

7. Least Used
I feel I should hang my head in shame with this one as it's such a beautiful palette that should be loved! I received the Too Faced Joy to the Girls palette last December from a very kind PR company and didn't blog about it due to it being out of stock everywhere. I hoped it would come back in stock but as it was a holiday/Christmas themed palette it just didn't. So the palette sadly remained in my 'to blog about' pile after only using it a few times. The shades in the palette are more towards the party season though there are quite a few neutrals that I love so I really should put this on my desk and use it more!

8

8. Most Used/Desert Island
Without a doubt the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette! Heaven forbid I couldn't use any other eyeshadow palette I'm pretty sure I would be happy with this alone. I use the Naked 2 palette most times I apply my makeup and love all 12 shades. There are now 4 palettes in the Naked range and this is 100% the most perfect palette for anyone with fair skin. Love, love, love the Naked 2!

Feel free to also do the Perfect Palette Tag, as I tag everyone!

Blogger_Love_Tag
As I've been getting in to doing tag posts over the past few months I thought I would finally create my own! As I love blogging and the blogger community I thought I would come up with 10 questions that are totally centred around love for fellow bloggers and blogging in general!

Please feel free to copy and paste the questions (you can find them all together at the bottom of the post for easier copying) and do this on your own blog to spread the love!

What was the first blog you ever came across?
I first discovered blogs through doing interior design searches on Google and came across Made By Girl; a blog I still read and love today. From there I realised other blogs existed including beauty blogs and found Lipglossiping which I got hooked on after reading Charlotte's in depth Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Palette post - a whole 4 years ago now!

Favourite blog reads
Oh I have so many! For beauty I love - Rotten Otter, Miss Budget Beauty and Couture Girl. For fashion - The Londoner, Fashion Foie Gras and Glam & Glitter. And for lifestyle/everything blogs - Nubby Twiglet, Sofia's Journal and A Beautiful Mess

Best blogging friend
That has to be Maxi from The Lipstick Blog, but she has had multiple blogs in her time! I get on with Maxi so well because she's just so lovely and nice. We talk about nonsense most of the time and like to moan/complain to each other but we also share the interest of makeup and having too much of it! She makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and I love her! I also love Tanzina from Makeup A to Z and Khila from Miss Budget Beauty.

Name a blog that enables your purchases
Essie Button! I think it's probably her videos that have enabled most purchases but her blog does also make me want to go out and shop. I'm actually so pleased when I already own something she mentions, I'm like "AHA I already have that!" with a satisfied look on my face for some reason. Currently wanting to try the Wild Rose Korres Lip Butter, The Body Shop Honey Bronzer and Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm all because of Estee.

5 blogs everyone should be reading!
Makeup and Beauty Blog and Temptalia for having amazing content and being so professional. A Beautiful Mess for a perfect mix of everything. And for beauty Vivianna Does Makeup and Lisa Eldridge have it spot on.

Your favourite way to read blogs
It has to be Bloglovin' for me. Such an easy way to keep up to date with the blogs I like to read and also to find new ones of all different subjects. I follow over 500 blogs on there in fact! You can follow Makeup Savvy on Bloglovin' here.

Bloggers that inspire you
Khila from Miss Budget Beauty without a doubt inspires me on a pro-active level as she manages to juggle so many things online as well as being a mum. I really don't know how she does it but it definitely motivates me when I'm being a bit slow with blogging. Another blogger that springs to mind is Kate who runs Nouvelle Daily and Ghostparties to great success as well as having a YouTube channel. Again this inspires me to be more pro-active but I also feel she gets everything spot on and that in itself is inspiring to me.

 Favourite blog design/look
Oh this is a tough one as there are so many amazing look blogs these days! Why did I even ask myself such a tough question?! I love Beautizine for it's simple but professional layout and Miss Makeup Magpie for the beautiful and clever header.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?
Another tough question! I think for me it's the creative outlet it provides. I love thinking of new post ideas and also photographing products in different ways. Plus I get to indulge in nail art for my blog and now other brands! Which is definitely creative and fun.

Name a blogger you would most like to see write a book in the future!
That would have to be Rosie from The Londoner as she knows her food, style and places to visit all over the world plus her photograph is perfect. But as a beauty/makeup book I'd love to see one from Lisa Eldridge
