NOTD - Doll House with Frou Frou

I've been wearing darker shades for a few months now and really felt like a change, something brighter and glisteny!

Which is why I opted for Frou Frou by Gosh with China Glaze Doll House over the top - sadly the light was going when I took these pictures so you can't actually get the full impact of how sparkly these nails are. But for some reason it reminds me of a mermaid's fin (but in pink ofcourse) all glisteny and almost wet looking!

Now I've only recently acquired Gosh Frou Frou courtesy of the other half and already I have a love/hate relationship with it (yes, you tend to find you start having emotions about certain nail polishes when you have so many!). In one way I love the soft pink shade of it but then against my pale skin it looks abit bland and not as special and lovely looking as in the bottle.

Which is why I thought of pairing it with Doll House by China Glaze - this being the most amazing chunky glitter to look at.

There is just something about Doll House that I love, so girly and I love that the glitter is more rose tinted than pink. I actually find myself just looking at the bottle it is that pretty!

I equally love 'Doll House' over the top of nude/greige shades like Nails Inc London or over black like the amazing Topshop Gypsy Night.

The one thing I would say is you definitely need a top coat with it, as the glitter does start to chip off after afew days without a top coat, plus it does help the glitter to set quicker. So no chance of wiping it all off against something...like I did!

I think I will always have a thing for this polish as it was the first China Glaze nail polish I purchased and I just love the look of it in the bottle!

All in all a lovely combination to combat my winter blues!

  5. Thanks for the comments!

As for getting China Glaze in the UK...I've always found eBay good especially from powerseller's or eBay shops - I've bought from http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/amytaylor711/ in the past.

But if your not too sure about using eBay - Venus Nail Supplies sell there China Glaze polishes for £3.90 each..but there p&p is just under £4 so it's only really worth it if your getting more than 3 or 4 really! http://bit.ly/g7mQC3

Or there is Sally's online which sell them for £6.50 a bottle...so not as cheap but still cheaper than the full price. http://bit.ly/bTYy7j

    Hope this helped!

  14. I'm so glad I found this post! I just recently got Sephora by OPI's Only Gold for Me topcoat which is very similar, except the glitters are gold, and I am obsessed with it. The only bad thing is that it's limited edition and so I will definitely be looking for this once that runs out!

  20. Just come through to check out the blog the nail tutorials are really impressive!

The china doll glitter is pretty crazy as well it goes well with the tone you picked to put underneath it. I think the contrast with black as you said would be quite interesting.
