Fabulous Magazine Free Models Own Kit Review

I've sure most of you by now have heard about the Models Own offer with Fabulous magazine that comes free in the Sunday News of the World. So I thought as I was kindly sent a PR sample ahead of them being available to collect in Tesco stores, I would review the products in the kit.

To claim your free kit, all you have to do is collect TWO tokens.
There will be one each week in the print edition of Fabulous (free in Sunday’s News Of The World), and also at the Fabulous Mag website, for three weeks. Tokens are available on Sunday January 9 (yesterday), Sunday January 16 and Sunday January 23. So if you didn't pick up the token this Sunday, you can still collect the two tokens you need.

Now I'm not going to lie, I've found the products to be abit hit and miss...however I do still feel it is totally worth collecting the two tokens and getting the free kit. Especially for the lovely eyeshadow duo in 'Goldie Rocks', the clear makeup bag (perfect for travelling) and the generous 25% off Models Own products voucher!

Models Own Tweezers
I have to say I really like the tweezers...they pick up each hair nicely and don't just tug like I've found afew cheap tweezers brands tend to do. They basically do the job and are pretty and pink. Plus you don't have to worry about throwing them into your handbag!

Models Own Eyelash Curler
I'm really not sure about these eyelash curlers - maybe I've been using them wrong? I really don't know. But personally they don't seem to curl the lashes at the base but more the middle of the lashes, which makes them almost point towards my eyelids and gives quite an unnatural curl to the lashes. I've never experienced this before and I've tried quite afew eyelash curlers in the past few years - so would really love to know if anyone else experiences this when you get the free set...or if it's just me using them in the wrong way!

Models Own Black Liquid Eyeliner
This was also abit of a disappointment sadly with the wand being abit to stiff to what I'm use to using and the product being abit too thin - which made for a hard application. But I'm sure if you are use to applying liquid eyeliner it will seem quite easy to apply.
I am however going to keep using it as it is a really black eyeliner and see if my technique improves. But if it doesn't all is not lost as I can use it to create nail art polka dots!

Models Own Volumising Mascara
I also can't rate the mascara either - I'm sure alot of people will like it as it really doesn't clump or give that spider leg look. However it contains fibers (you can see on the brush above) which seemed to irritate my eyes quite abit. But if you have used mascaras like Max Factor False Lash Effect or Maybelline Falsies and been fine I'm sure this mascara will also be! I did however try this out even though it did irritate my eyes and have to say it is quite a nice true black mascara that didn't smudge.

Models Own Duo Eyeshadow in 'Goldie Rocks'
I decided to leave my most favourite product of the kit till last. I would collect the two tokens just for this eyeshadow duo. The lightest shade is a brightening, shimmery light gold that makes for a really nice base which could definitely be worn of it own just as a wash of colour on them 'non-makeup' days. Or for a real brightening effect it can be used wet over the whole lid.
As for the darker of the two shades - I wasn't too sure about it when I swatched it on my arm...however used lightly in the  eye socket creates a really lovely look and definitely blends out nicely.
This eyeshadow duo really does give you an idea of the quality you should expect with Models Own if you have never tried out any beauty products by the brand before.

Overall this is still a really great offer to try out Models Own as a brand and get the fabulous 25% off!

I Love mascara, really Great eyelash curlers and all things Lashes.

I wanted to share that my favorite is the Hot Lashes heated 2 pc lash curler! It has gotten great reviews at Amazon--Cult favorite Hot Lashes Makeup artist Kit..Absolute best out there~!

They have an amazing sturdy 24K gold metal curler similiar to the Shu Uemura and Sheisdo one that comes with its own seperate pink small heater base that heats just the pad in the curler, this way my curl lasts till the next day.

Makes my eyes POP and Keeps my lashes super curly, they have a website hotlashes...HTH~

Major Rave, the cadillac of curlers..so worth the price. My friends and I love love love this one! Best by far,,
    HTH~…:) Abundant blessings..

  9. Great kit!! I love the eyeshadow but the best thing abouth this kit is the Tweezers! They are by far the BEST Tweezers I have ever used and I have tried them all!!! I honestly didn't think they would be any good but how wrong I was! They grab the tiny little hairs that other Tweezers just don't touch. If you are looking for good Tweezers then get these!! If you didn't get the coupons and you still want the kit then look on ebay?
