Favourite Neutral Eyeshadows

Nude/neutral shades are what I love to use the most - day-to-day or with darker shades for a soft smokey eye at night. I really feel all these shades are far from boring and can work perfectly on there own or with other shades.

Here are my personal favourites...

1. Rimmel Colour Mousse 8hr '007 Breezy' £4.99 - This has to be one of my favourite liquid/mousse eyeshadows for pigment, texture and how long it lasts without creasing. Blends out perfectly even if only applying with fingertips and is also really buildable. Quite afew neutrals in the range (Chill Out, Get Fresh, Sassy) but the deeper shades like 'Midnight Blue' are as equally beautiful and pigmented. Just a really lovely, shimmery alternative to pressed eyeshadows. A must if you've never tried liquid eyeshadows before!

2. Bourjois Ombre a Paupieres eyeshadow  '08 Beige Rose' £5.99 - This is definitely my go-to neutral base as it blends perfectly with any darker shades, also just the right amount of shimmer with no glitter. Again this is really buidable and can definitely be worn on it's own or used wet for a more intense foiled look.
An all round perfect eyeshadow with very pretty packaging.

3. Bourjois Shimmering Shine Liquid eyeshadow '32 Brun Magnetique' £6.85 - Another favourite for it's intensity and texture! Love the refreshing cooling feeling when applied, almost wakes up the eyes. You also literally need the smallest of amounts (which is actually the same with the Rimmel eye mousse) so this will last forever. As for application this comes with a doe foot applicator that you can use directly on the eyelid or apply to the back of the hand and then use a brush or just a fingertip to blend.
Also these are perfect used as liquid liner when applied with an angled liner brush!

4. No7 Stay Perfect Eye Mousse 'Vanilla' £8.75 -  Another beautiful shade that is literally so creamy (actual mousse consistency) and lovely. Works equally as great as a base to intensify a bolder shade or to use on them 'non makeup/actually abit of makeup' days.
Also works great sparingly as a highlight on the brow bone!

5. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow 'r.s.v.p' £14.00 - Unfortunately mine is slightly dried out due to not screwing the top on properly! But this once was one of my favourite bases for all neutral eyeshadows. This literally lasts all day without creasing or budging also blends out really nicely.
Benefit also have such a wide range of neutral shades to pick from all as beautiful and long lasting.

6. the Balm Batter Up Creaseless Cream Shadow 'Home Plate Kate' £18.00 - This is what I turn to when I'm feeling lazy as it always looks perfect on it's own almost like I'm wearing two eyeshadows, one on the eyelid and one in the socket line.
This is actually so similar to the Benefit Creaseless Cream eyeshadows however I'd say slightly softer and more blendable but not as great on the crease front!
But I do love the depth of colour with this!

  2. The Rimmel Colour Mousse looks lovely and sounds interesting...I'd be amazed if it could last on my oily lids! Fave neutral eyeshadows would have to be Urban Decay 'Toasted', MAC 'Vanilla' and Heavenly Naturals 'Cappuccino'.

  5. The Rimmel one looks amazing! I can't get it to last on my oily lids though, no matter what priming method I use!
Lily Lolo's mineral shadow in Vanilla Shimmer (I think that's what it's called anyway) is pretty cool, and a little really goes a long way!

  7. I love Benefit Creaseless Cream in Birthday Suit - it's the first eyeshadow I ever really bought and I've loved it ever since!

I really would like to get a set of MAC neutral colours this Christmas though, I genereally prefer powders to creams.

  8. Lovely post. I really am a big fan of neutrals. If I could only have one......hmmm......probably RBR Solstice Halcyon. It's a tough one though as I have many that I love. I would have said my old No.7 eyeshadow but unfortunately I can't remember the name!

I think these shades are a must in everyone's make up collection. It always seem boring to get them but they give the final touch to gorgeous looks.
