10 Beauty Facts That Will Blow Your Mind

Call me addicted to all things beauty, but I love me a beauty fact! The more unusual and interesting the better. But the problem is most articles seem to recycle beauty facts which is pretty boring.

This is why I thought I'd come up with my own blog post of fresh new beauty facts that you hopefully have never heard of before!

Loofahs are made from dried cucumbers - who knew!
If you haven't a clue which loofah I'm going on about then I'm talking the kinda' hard round bath loofah, that I'd always presumed were made from man-made fibers. But according to Wikipedia, it is classed as a vegetable and the scientific name for it is 'Luffa'. Sally Hansen, you know, original girl boss of the nail polish industry? Wasn't in fact a real person! But Coty is pretending she was!
Many moons ago, after years of loving Sally Hansen nail polish I decided to research the company a bit more, mainly to see what Sally Hansen looked liked. What did I find? Nothing. No company history, no Wikipedia page on the woman herself, no grainy portraint...just nothing! After further digging, I found this interesting transcript of a blogger that phoned the SH customer services helpline to find out more about Sally Hansen and it was confirmed Sally Hansen wasn't, in fact, a real person. However, if you visit SallyHansen.com and view the 'About Us' page you will find - "It was in the late 1950s when Sally Hansen, together with her chemist husband, pioneered a nail protection formula called Hard As Nails". But then why no images or details of Sally Hansen or her unnamed husband anywhere on the internet then? Very suspicious!

The reason why we seem to open our mouth when applying mascara?
It's pretty simply... the body instinctively knows it's easier not to blink that way. So it's not just a weird thing we all do after all!
