4 Glow Products Changing The Way We See Highlighters

I don't know about you but I love a strong, obvious (but pretty) highlight that catches the light perfectly. Anything that glows brightly on the cheekbones and brow bones and stays there is a winner for me.

My all time favourite highlighter has to be theBalm Mary Lou Manizer (£20 Feel Unique HERE) due to amazing pigmentation. But in the last 6 months I've been trying out many more highlighters and on the whole they have been anything but ordinary. Highlighters are changing people!

I am a tad sad that I've yet to get my hands on a rainbow style unicorn highlight but I do have 4 amazing highlighters in my collection that I wanted to share with you today. These offer something different and are pretty unique if you ask me! Also, as I've promised to keep this blog savvy I've included two budget finds (they are SO good) and two more splurge-worthy finds.

MUA Glow Beam Liquid Highlight Cushion
£5.00 Superdrug HERE
For a good few years now MUA highlighters have impressed me, going back to £3 Underdress Your Skin Highlighting Powders. But they have evolved even further with different formulas and amazing packaging to boot. My favourite of all has to be this on-trend cushion highlight as it's fun and novel to use as well as being such a pretty golden highlight for the cheekbones. Granted the sticker is faffy to place down every time you use it and if you ditched it I'm sure the liquid in the cushion would dry out pretty sharpish but that aside the overall packaging is pleasing for the price. As for the liquid highlight, which I prefer to apply with my middle finger and not the cushion-like sponge included, it's definitely gold in tone, fast drying and buildable. For my pale skin it is a little warm, though I did get lots of use out of it over Christmas, so I've say this is definitely more suited to darker skin tones or on tanned skin come the summer months.

Ciate Dewy Stix Highlighting Balm
£22.00 ASOS HERE
On to a totally new highlighter now that I can't say I've seen anything similar to! This is a stick balm that creates the most realistic natural dewy finish that dare I say is similar to when you work up a little sweat. But thankfully this can be concentrated to just the cheekbones for a radiant glow and not all over the face natural sweat style. The stick can also be used on the brow bones and cupids bow but I'd say stay away from the latter as it's so natural looking that you may appear to have a sweaty upper lip - never a good look! As this is a product that stays tacky on the skin I like to be very light handed with it and I'm almost sure anyone with dry skin will get on with it even better. For now I will be applying the smallest touch on my cheekbones when I want to go for a very natural but pretty glow, perfect for spring makeup, but I can't wait to use it more liberally in summer and apply it down the front of my legs and on my collarbone. Such a unique product here! I should also point out that it's totally universal and will work with all skin colours, whoop!

Maybelline Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter
£6.99 Boots HERE ASOS HERE
Forget the recent highlighter/strobing drops! If you are looking for an intensely pigmented fluid highlight then look no further! I spotted this on the cheekbones of NikkiTutorials  (the image I'm talking about) and instantly knew I had to have it. The pigmentation was just wow and in the flesh I think it's even more impressive! This strobing liquid blends into the skin a dream, is buildable for a literal light bulb effect and is one of the prettiest iridescent sheens I've come across. If you are wanting to try a new highlight then make it this one! Available in light/iridescent (this one!) perfect for pale girls or anyone wanting an intense neutral highlight or medium/nude for warmer skin tones that prefer a more golden glow.

Illamasqua Gleam Highlighter in Supernatural (rose gold!)
£22.00 Look Fantastic HERE
Lastly, I had to include a unique rose gold highlighter that has been in my collection for quite some time but I've never had an opportunity to mention it, until now! What can I say, it's a rose gold highlighter, enough said I think! But if you want more, then I'd describe this cream highlight as a slightly more neutral Nars Orgasm blusher mixed with a highlight. It's stunning! As I'm pale it works as a blusher come highlight for me, however I still like to wear it higher up on the cheeks to show off the stunning and very flattering sheen. I can imagine this looking even more gorgeous on darker skin tones, really glowy and rose golden. Such a beautiful highlight shade

So many unique and stunning highlighters here! Let me know which you like the look of most.
