Predicted Beauty Product Trends for 2016 - What I think will be Hot!

Upcoming-beauty-product-trends-UK-2016

For the past two weeks I've been wondering what new products we will be seeing a lot of in 2016. I don't know why it popped into my head (maybe because you're beauty obsessed, Fiona?) but it stuck and after looking up lots of new product launches I thought I'd share my findings with you

These are the products I'm pretty sure will be the hot new trends. I find things like this really interesting... so hopefully you will too!

Dip Pot Products
One of the main new makeup products on the block this year is dip pots - I'm talking brow products, lip products and I'm sure in the near future eye products. A dip pot is a small vial of product with an attached applicator that you dip into and apply to the face. The first product launches in the UK are Soap & Glory Brow Putty Dip Pot & Brush and L'Oreal Infallible Matte Max Lip Lacquer (£6.99 - Boots here) that's has an interesting gel lip product to the pot that turns to a powder on the lips. I'm eager to try both products but my concern is a lack of product volume as the main part of the product is taken up by the applicator... but we shall see

Essence
Korean Beauty is going to be hot this year in the UK with more major stores selling Korean beauty brands both on and off line. But one key product that brands have taken on is Essence or Essence Lotion as some are calling it. This is not to be confused with a toner even though it looks like one but it's almost a thin liquid serum to boost hydration in the skin to either be used alone or before moisturising. Lots of high-end brands are coming out with their own versions right now including This Works, SK-II and Clinique but there are budget options available with B. in Superdrug (£6.99 - here) which I've actually own and love already (you can read about it here) and The Body Shop have actually launched two in their Drops of Youth collection here and Oils of Life collection here. Expect to hear lots about Essences both online and in magazines in the coming months!

Pre-Wash Conditioner
Pre-shampoo treatments are nothing new and have been around for years but finally they are coming from high-street brands, meaning they will be a lot more affordable, and they are actually offering something new. Instead of oils, cleanses and deep treatments that were meant for the entire length of the hair, we are talking pre-conditioners for the roots to add volume, to reduce oil and whatever else brands want to come up with next! The most exciting recent launches have been L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Masque Pre Shampoo Treatment (£5.99 - Boots here) which is aimed at oily roots and Tresemme Beauty-Full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner (£4.99 - Superdrug here) that as you may have guessed is to add volume as conditioning  post shampoo can weigh down the hair.

Copper Oxide Skincare
Onto a new skincare ingredient now that we will be seeing more and more of in high-end skincare products. Without boring myself and you to death a quick explanation of what copper oxide does in skincare would be that it temporarily replaces copper peptides in human plasma that declines with age. These would repair skin to help with the elasticity, texture, hydration and smoothness of the skin so adding it back into the skin through skincare is only a good thing - well if it works. Many skincare products already contain copper peptides but we will be seeing more and more products pop up making it clear that they contain copper. A few interesting ones are NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum (£38 - Look Fantastic here) and Illuminage Skin Rejuvenating Eye Mask (£25 - Amazon here) which has copper oxide infused into the fabric and no water is involved - I'm intrigued!

Matte Liquid Lipstick
Lastly more of an advancement with a current product on the high street! Matte lips were huge in 2015 and they will continue to be, but one thing that was lacking was matte liquid lipstick with many being too drying and uncomfortable to wear on the lips. But this year has already seen the wonderful new Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor's from MAC (£21.00 - MAC here), new matte shades to be added to the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick range and the impending arrival of the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors that I can't wait to try out - all with more comfortable formulas! 2016 is going to be a year for matte lip products! Pssst - Not a liquid lipstick but S&G are going to be launching the matte versions of the Sexy Mother Pucker Mini Gloss Matte Sticks. 6 amazing matte shades and only £3.50 each!

So there you have it, my own predictions of what we will be seeing this year

What are you most looking forward to?
