Five Festive Lip Treats

Christmas_lip_products

Over the past few months there has been a heck of a lots of new lip products on the market, especially for Christmas and as a lip product junkie this has pleased me no end! From the cute packaging to limited shades I've felt spoilt for choice. But instead of going crazy, because my makeup stash is big enough, I thought I'd collect together my favourite five for share with you today!

All five lip products would make excellent little stocking fillers or even just a cheap treat for yourself in the lead up to Christas. Anyway, enough of my rambling intro... lets look at my festive lip treats!

Lanolips 101 Ointment in Cranberry Limited Edition
£7.99 - Feel Unique here
When it comes to chapped lips in winter only lanolin products will do for me. My favourite brand that does lanolin well is Lanolips as they take out the not so nice scent and they replace it with something sweet and lovely, and I'm also quite fond of their soft pink packaging. For Christmas their bestselling 101 Ointment that can be used everywhere, not just on the lips, has had a flavour re-vamp with a new Cranberry scent. I'm personally a fan of anything cranberry flavoured and it just seems like a festive flavour to me, so it's a nice touch. As for the balm itself it's much like all the other Lanolip Ointments in that it's thick, balm-like and will sort out the worst of dry skin, leaving it nourished; I've been using this for the past 2 weeks on my lips and cuticles and it's done wonders for both. It's also ideal for giving as a little gift this Christmas especially to someone that loves lip products due to the beautiful tree decoration packaging.

Soap & Glory Kissmas Cracker
£6.00 - Boots here
Each year S&G go all out with their Christmas gifts and this year is no different, in fact I think they may have outdone themselves! The is a gift to suit every budget and all are well throught out and packaged. One of the lower priced gifts that could be a stocking filler present, secret santa or just a little gift to a friend is the lovely Kissmas Cracker that contains a 4ml handbag size of the Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in Rose & Shine (limited editon). As I'm a fan of the Sexy Mother Pucker range this was a lovely treat to myself and I was pleased to see it's a wearable sheer pink shade that would suit everyone. My only criticism is that S&G lip balms can be on the sticky side but I've found if you apply a lip balm first the formula changes to be something much more comfortable to wear. Just a lovely little inexpensive lip treat here.

Balmi Cube Roseberry Lip Balm
£4.99 - Superdrug here or Boots
Okay, so I was sold on the packaging with this... I mean look at that rose gold metallic beauty! Plus I was intrigued by the Roseberry flavour and love the Balmi Lip Balms I already own (I didn't really need anymore but hey ho). Aside from the amazing packaging Balmi balms are such fab moisturising lip balms that are oh so similar to the EOS ones that are often a tad more pricey. However the difference of course is in the shape and in actual fact I think I may prefer this pointed pyramid shape as it's just the right size and shape to fit in between the lips and smooth it on in one swipe. As for the scent it's nothing to go crazy over sadly but it is a nice enough subtle strawberry flavour that I doubt anyone would dislike. If you are a lover of all things rose gold then this is something you need to pick up!

The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain
£12.00 - TBS here or in-store
On to another favourite now with The Body Shop's iconic Lip & Cheek stain that's been beautifully re-packaged in a crimson art deco inspired bottle. Lip stains are some of the easiest lip products to wear and this Body Shop version is just spot on for both the lips and cheeks. On the lips this can be applied as a single wash of colour for a soft bitten lip effect or it can be layered for a deeper stronger red shade, which I'm pleased about as I like that it can look like two different lip products. As this is a stain it's also incredibly light weight on the lips but surprisingly not drying. As for on the cheeks it's creates a lovely rosy glow that is perfect for this time of year and actually I've found it be more flattering than Benefit's Benetint! I will be honest and say the price is slightly steep for The Body Shop however there are currently so many deals and sales on at the moment that you definitely won't be needing to pay full price!

Revlon Cherries In The Snow Lustrous Lipstick
£7.99 - Boots here
Ahhh, Cherries In The Snow, how I love you so. Out of my 5 picks this is the only oldie, but it's a goodie and one I couldn't not include as I wear it every Christmas and it's most definitely my winter bold lip colour. Revlon make some amazing red lip colours but this is hands down the most wearable red out of them all and a shade that literally flatters all complexions with it's pink undertones. I also love how long this lasts on the lips but keeps them hydrated enough in the colder months. Just a true gem that I had to include in my festive lip picks!

Which lip products out of my five do you like the look of the most?

Fee xo.
