Lazy Links #2

Another lazy links post today which seems quite appropriate with the icy weather at the moment. I know all I want to do is keep warm inside and enjoy the snow through the window

Hope you enjoy the links...

I love the interviews featured on Into The Gloss especially when it is people you don't tend to hear much about. This interview is a great look into Laura Mercier's career and also her makeup line and how she created it. A really interesting read!

As it's still January I think I can mention this amazingly detailed post by Charlotte. When reading this post I actually got out my phone and wrote a list of all the products I now want to try with the top products on my list being the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and the Lumos High Speed Top Coat that I'd never heard of before. You can always rely on Charlotte for great product recommendations!

I have recently been re-visiting some of Lisa Eldridge's You Tube videos, in particular her amazing series on the history of makeup, right back to the Victorian era when an eery pale complexion was a sign of status/wealth. I would recommend starting off with the first video which is Lisa Eldridge talking to Madeleine Marsh who is a writer and historian who has an amazing passion and knowledge of beauty products throughout the ages. If you enjoy these types of videos on beauty in Victorian times then I suggest a book called Beautiful For Ever: Madame Rachel of Bond Street - Cosmetician, Con-Artist and Blackmailer (Amazon £6.74 - here) which is such an intriging true account of that era and women's vanity.

Abby has just changed her blog layout and now I love her blog even more. Un-observed is one of those blog that make a really lovely relaxing read on all thing beauty, fashion and interiors. Her images are just perfection and I really love her interior style of all things white.

I discovered Amelia's blog only a few month ago and have been an avid reader ever since, her blog is full of well thought out posts and great photography. I especially love all the 'Beauty On Location' posts and 'How To's'. Just a great quality beauty blog that thinks outside of the box.

Urban_Decay_naked_nail_polish_set

 (Debenhams Exclusive - £21.00)
How have I only just discovered this set?! I mean I thought there would have been some sort of hype around this set as the Naked Palettes are sooooo popular but I haven't seen this reviewed anywhere! It's probably way over priced for only 6 mini nail polishes but I cannot help wanting them as the shades are the same as ones in the palettes with the same names - I love that for some reason!

(Space NK - NOW £9.00 WAS £37.00)
This is a lovely set by Mor which contains three Mor products - a soap, hand cream and lip macaron and also a cosmetics bag which is really nice. Mor products are generally very pricey so this is a great saving and even with the silly Space NK £5.00 P&P on top it only comes to £14.00.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday whatever you are up to

Fee xo.
