Dream Aromas: Favourite Beauty Product Scents

While formula and shades are important when picking beauty and skincare products I'm equally drawn to the scent. I've definitely bought products based on their scent and have repurchased quite a few products time and time again purely for how good they smell.

Of course, everyone is drawn to different scents but below I'm sure you will find a scent you also love. Let me know your own favourite aromas when it comes to beauty/skin products and if you have any product recommendations based on the below scents please do let me know in the comments!

This post was inspired by Lily's lovely post - Five Fail Safe Scents.

When it comes to orange scented products the juicer the better for me! I find all orange scents just so uplifting and awakening which is why I'm always on the hunt for new products to try with a juicy zesty scent. It all started with Ole Henricksen The Clean Truth Cleansing Cloths which although expensive at £12 a pack I still do treat myself to, especially when I have a holiday booked as they are so refreshing in the heat. Think orange jelly babies! I'm also a huge fan of the Origins GinZing range, the gel moisturiser in particular as it's just so light on the skin and the scent makes me think of freshly squeezed orange which is perfect for my A.M skincare routine. Other orange scented favourites include Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Glow Mask (it smells like fresh orange marmalade!), Superfacialist Vitamin C Skin Renew Cleansing Oil and Shay & Blue Blood Oranges fragrance (fresh orange with a spicy twist).

Rose is a scent that's definitely grown on me over the years, since discovering non 'granny' versions of the floral scent. The most dreamy rose scented product I own has to be Ro's Argan Body Conditioner from Lush as rose with argan oil is just a wonderful combination and the product is just so nourishing. Another slightly more spiced rose body scent I love in the winter time is REN Moroccan Rose Gold Glow Perfect Dry Oil, again a lovely nourishing product with not your typical powdery rose scent. I'm also, of course, a fan of Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel which although I'm running out is on my Christmas list! I just love the sweetened rose as it's so comforting in the shower. Another fairly new rose favourite is Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser (10% off here) which works really well as an everyday face wash and has a light floral rose scent which isn't too much. Lastly for rose scented products I have to give a mention to Bourjois makeup as quite a few of their powder products are rose scent but not overly done.

Gourmand (sweet)
Since I can remember I've been drawn to foody scents which smell of things like vanilla, caramel and even cake! My favourite gourmand almond-y popcorn scent body product has to be Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion which smells good enough to eat and really does leave you smelling amazing! I'm also a fan of yummy flavoured lip balms so while it was discontinued last year I still hunt down backups of Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream as it's just so moreish and tasty! As for fragrance when I'm in the mood for it I love Shay & Blue Salted Caramel, this certainly isn't a scent for everyone as it's very gourmand but it often satisfies my sweet tooth and really is something unique.

While coconut isn't a scent I go for in the winter months, come summertime I can't get enough of it! Coconut scents make me think of summer and hot days even when the weather is far from it, so I love nothing more than a coconut scent shampoo or moisturiser. My go-to summer shampoo is OGX Coconut Milk and I also love the Philip Kinsley Coconut Breeze collection. As for body products you can't beat Palmer's Coconut Oil Body Lotion as it's perfectly coconut-y and leaves your limbs feeling really hydrated. Skincare wise I haven't found much with a coconut scent other than one of my favourite hydrating masks which is Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment which smells like a tropical coconut based cocktail - so good!

If you like any of the scents mentioned and have recommendations for me, please please leave them in the comments as I'm always happy to try out new products.
