Try These Lit From Within Highlighters For a Subtle Glow

Only the other day I was talking how to incorporate sparkle into your everyday makeup routine and although I still stand by shimmer product adding something to a look and brightening the complexion there are times when you want less of a shimmer and more of a glow.

This is where what I like to call 'micro highlighters' come in. The highlighters so subtle that they can be worn beyond the cheekbones and for the most part are much more subtle in their shimmer but still very luminous creating an everyday glowing skin. Below find three highlighters in three different formulas that fit the bill perfectly that I hope you love just as much as I already do!

Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminizing Face Powder
£11 (9g) HERE
First up, I simply knew I had to include Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminizing Face Powder within this post as it's my definition of a 'micro highlight'. Described by S&G as a powder to  lift up your cheekbones or dust lightly all over for a 'moonlit' look this is truly a soft focus highlighter that adds a glow rather than a light reflecting highlight. The formula is also one that blew me away as it's light yet butter smooth without a powdery feel, in fact, if you know the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector it's pretty comparable in texture - just amazing! As for tone do not let the pink-peach colour in the compact put you off as on pale to medium skin this is more radiance enhancing than anything else. However, on darker skin tones this may only work as a radiant blusher. This isn't a product that would necessarily stand out on a Soap & Glory makeup stand however it's truly one of their best-performing products and ideal for perfecting a lit from within look to the skin.

Bourjois Rice Java Powder
£9.99 (3.5g) HERE
A few years ago Bourjois celebrated its 150th birthday by reinventing one of its best selling products from 1879, hence the old-school Parisian packaging! Pretty cool, right? Bourjois Rice Java Powder also known as Poudre de Riz De Java could only be described as a finely milled subtle shimmer powder that when buffed over the skin adds a wearable sparkle/luminousity. Although the powder states that one shade suits all it may appear too pink for darker skin types however with a light hand and a buffing brush this isn't the case and only a light sparkle will be visible which is surprisingly wearable and perfect for those with lacklustre skin as this can be used all over the face. The only thing to note is that the powder is fairly fragranced with a rose scent due to this being a reinvented product reminiscent of earlier Bourjois beauty products.

Lancome Olympia's Wonderland Cushion Highlighter
£30.00 (13g) HERE
Lastly, I simply had to include this one off limited edition cushion highlighter from Lancome. Teaming up with Olympia Le-Tan, Lancome's cushion highlighter have had one seriously cute makeover with an embroidered patch adorned with a sassy pink-haired angel to the front which makes me personally want to keep it untouched and in my treasured makeup collectables stash! However, I knew I couldn't resist a cushion highlighter and broke the seal and started using it within a day of receiving it. Described by Lancome as a sheer veil of light I wasn't too sure on first dab with my fingertip into the refreshing and light sponge cushion as it looked more like a light foundation than a highlighter, but once swept and lightly blended over the skin it transforms into light gold almost platinum highlight that is oh so wearable for everyday cheekbones and importantly stays put. A true gem of a product and one I will be keeping for the packaging long after I've used up the glorious luminous highlighter within.

Other subtle highlighters include  - It's Skin Babyface Petit Highlighter (£7.50), Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight (£35).
