Bedside Beauty - What's on My Bedside Table

whats_on_my_bedside_table

For the longest time ever I have been without a bedside table and been making do with the floor for all my night time beauty essentials and books. But on my latest trip to Ikea I finally picked up a nice side table/dish, and I love it! So I thought I would do a 'What's On My Bedside Table' post as I always love reading other people's blog posts.

Firstly my Ikea side table was a bargain at only £15, sadly I couldn't find it online, however it will be in most stores I am sure. What I love about it is that isn't not your standard bedside table, but it is large enough to hold quite a lot. I'm sure this would also look great in a living room as a coffee side table.

Ikea are really great in general for side tables/bedside tables and start as low as £8. Also as a lot of the designs are so simple the furniture can be easily modified. Like this side table on Ikea Hackers here

On my bedside table I try to keep everything as mess-free as possible by keeping all my beauty products in my Fresh makeup bag. I got this with a Fresh gift set and really do like it a lot.

I also keep my phone charging next to my bed at night, some earphone and a notebook and pen to write down and blog post ideas. Also I have a couple of books that I am currently reading - The Goddess Experience (Amazon - £8.96 here) my favourite book to dip in and out of, and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Amazon - £5.19 here). Or should I say, trying to read, as I normally end up watching You tube videos in my subscription box before I go to bed. A habit I am trying to get out of as using technology before bed isn't good for both sleeping or the eyes!

Contents of my night time makeup bag...

When going to bed every night after cleansing my face properly my main aim is to hydrate my skin and lips and also use a spot treatment so that everything can get to work as I sleep. As my skin is more oily than anything I don't use a facial moisturiser and just dab on Origins Super Spot Remover on any blemishes I have. I then use a small amount of the Natio Ageless Eye Cream under my eyes... this is a fairly new addition to my routine as I feel I need it a bit now even though I don't have any wrinkles just yet! I also apply one of my many lip balms. Only my most favourite hydrating lip balms make the cut - Neom Multi Balm, Nivea Lip Butter, Mor Macaron Lip Balm, Sara Happ The Lip Slip and Dermalogica Lip Complex mini. All really are amazing.

I also use the Balance Me Super Hydrating mini Hand Cream on my fingers and cuticles just before I go to sleep and apply The Body Shop Shea Butter Body Butter anywhere on my body that is feeling dry or sometimes I just apply it all over my arms and chest.

I also use the Bare Mineral Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover on a cotton pad to remove my makeup when I am being super lazy and then remove the residue with a sample of the Balance Rescue Face Tonique which is nice and refreshing. I also take one Cranberry tablet a night for healthy kidneys and a good dose of vitamin C for my immune system.. though I can't say I get ill less!

I also keep a mini Thierry Mugler Alien and Cartier Delices de Cartier fragrance next to my bed as I oddly spritz myself with perfume before going to bed or when I wake up... I hope other people do this!

I think other than having too many lip balms next to my bed (because I can't decide which I like the most) I have exactly what I need next to my bed and for my routine. The only thing I would like to change is my eye cream as I have yet to find one that I think is really plumping or hydrating - suggestions would be appreciated.

If you would like reviews of anything in this post just let me know in the comments below!

Also if you have done a 'What's on My Bedside Table' post then I would love to read it.

Fee xo.
