The Christmas Tag

As it's semi near to Christmas and I'm feeling festive, I thought why not do a Christmas Tag! I spotted this one on the wonderful Milk Bubble Tea blog here which is a favourite of mine when I just want some relaxed blog reading with pretty photos.

At the bottom I've included the questions so you can easily copy & paste them onto your own blog if you want to do the tag!

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
If you are Christmas obsessed like myself then I feel it's more about watching lots of Christmas films over the festive period - so this is a bit of a tough question! However I think my ultimate Christmas film to watch has to be Home Alone - I'm generally bad at remembering movie quotes but as I've watched Home Alone so many times I actually know a lot of the film... for example "Buzz, I'm going through all your private stuff! You better come out and pound me!". In fact I loved the film so much that when I was around 8/9 I very nearly attempted to re-act the Kevin going down the stairs on his sledge scene... though I was on a giant book at the time! I was thankfully stopped because the front door was closed. So yes, Home Alone is definitely a favourite! Also love Surviving Christmas and of course Elf.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Well it is a tradition that I'm allowed to open one present on Christmas Eve but all the other presents have to be opened on Christmas morning! Much like Becky (from Milk Bubble Tea) this is done whilst scoffing Christmas chocolates in place of breakfast. I don't think I could ever be one of those people that wait till after Christmas lunch to open their presents!

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I don't think I have any specific favourite memories but I use to love waking up on Christmas morning and rushing into my mum & dad's room with my sister to open our stockings whilst our dog jumped about excitedly.

4. Favourite festive food?
Oh, this is a tough one! However much I love my sister's roast potatoes I don't think I could live without copious amounts of chocolate at Christmas time. From Terry's Chocolate Oranges (yes, I eat more than one) to Heroes and of course Lindt chocolates (the red ball ones of course) I do go a bit crazy!

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I think presents as a children where 100 times more exciting so I had a cast my mind back to all the Christmas presents that stood out to me growing up. Though nothing wildy expensive I think my favourite gift must have been a Sylvanian Families party house with all the accessories such as a table and all the chairs, miniature cakes/desserts and even party games and hats were included! I can feel myself get excited just thinking about it haha!

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
This is another tough question as I don't really associate any specific smells with Christmas expect for Christmas dinner. But a very nostalgic smell for me is the smell of tinsel! I don't use it now for my own decorations but you may find me in WHSmith having a sneaky sniff of the masses of tinsel... yes, probably shouldn't be admitting.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Over the past year or two me and my sister have come up with a new little tradition were I we spend Christmas Eve at her house. We watch Christmas-y TV, have a buffet type dinner at night and play games. This makes everyone super festive and excited for Christmas! As I've got older I've definitely realised you need to make more of an effort to keep that level of excitement up so I'm very glad of our new tradition.

8. What tops your tree?
I can't say I'm too fussed with this as I'm all about the actual tree decorations. So just a simple glittery silver star tops my tree. Generally wonky and looking like it's too heavy for the tree. Note to self: hunt down a fancy looking star or fairy this year!

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I actually don't think there was anything! I think I probably asked for some kind of small pet at some stage but even though I was asking Father Christmas I always knew not to ask for anything too big! Very sensible child I was.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
I think it has to be the build up to Christmas. However much I love Christmas Day it's always gone too fast, whereas the build-up from the end of November that just feels magical to me is what I love the most! This includes Christmas shopping, tasty festive treats and baking, Christmas decorating and then sitting with only the Christmas tree lights on watching TV, spying amazing beauty gift sets online and of course lots of Christmas film watching weekends!

Hope you've enjoyed this tag! If you also do the tag (feel free to answer the questions in the comments if you don't have a blog) make sure to let me know as I'd love to read your answers!

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
Ah, there's SO many, I love National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Elf, The Santa Clause etc. but one that I watch every year, without fail is The Snowman on Christmas eve. I absolutely adored the Snowman and The Snow dog. My dad bought me the little plushie last year, so cute.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Always on Christmas morning (usually whilst scoffing Christmas chocolate) We usually get new Christmas Pyjamas on Christmas Eve, but we save the present opening for Christmas day morning.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
My parents always used to go all out at Christmas. We'd come downstairs to presents, balloons, reindeer prints made out of glitter, red and white tape for the north pole, it was so magical as kids!
4. favourite festive food?
Aside from chocolate...Roast potatoes during Christmas dinner, so many roast potatoes.

5. Favourite Christmas gift ?
I can't remember how old I was, but it was the year of the Furby. I'm sure there were small riots amongst the shelves in Toys R us. My parents pretended they couldn't get me one but then it was hidden behind the sofa! (anyone else hide theirs in the wardrobe at night, they were so creepy!)

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Christmas dinner cooking, mmm or the smell of the Christmas tree!
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Just that it's family time, we'll usually all have wine, the fire on, lots of yummy food and sit down in our new pyjamas to watch Christmas films.

8. What tops your tree?
For years and years it was a little gold vintage angel, my dad always lifted me up to put it on the tree, when I was a kid... at the very end of decorating everything. She was always kind of wonky and worn looking, but it was tradition. These days it's a big gold glittery star.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
Not in an ungrateful way. I mean, I used to circle half of the Argos catalogue! But every year I would ask for a dog, without fail. One year my parents brought it a huge box, with holes in and something was moving. I was certain it was a puppy...it was a rabbit ha ha Still one of the best pets I've ever had though. Then last year, I finally bought myself my own Christmas puppy :) Oscar on the 21sr of December. He was certainly worth the wait.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Spending time with my loves ones, friends and family, after eating Christmas dinner, watching Only fools and Horses episodes that we've seen ten times already. Watching the snow fall and generally having a lovely time.
